Hi my name is Nicholas Ramos and I work for the government 😎

Ok I'm not a secret agent, sorry to disappoint. But I helped to create a marketing campaign for The City of Weston, to help them promote the 2020 Census.

So with the help of some friends, we did some research and found some interesting ideas for what to include in our campaign. I was more of the creative mind for my group, which consisted of Reem, Rhea, and me, Red! So what I was to do was create the videos and most of the graphic ideas for our group. I looked up the Census logo, and boy was i pleasantly surprised...

at how boring it was. Ok maybe I'm stepping out of line when I'm saying that, but to me, if we want to get the people of our town excited about Census, we need to make it seem fun. So, I went into Photoshop, and after researching some articles Stoklosa had given us, I had found a perfect idea. As for logos, one new trend is gradients. I wanted a bulky font so I looked through and found one i enjoyed and created this masterpiece...
Then I decided to go for a different approach as to what I wanted for one of the videos. I wanted animation (A rising trend in 2020!). So after creating many images in photoshop, I opened up good old After Effects and did what animators do best... I animated.

Then as for my final video, I wanted to explore my inner cinematographer. So I created a cinematic highlight reel of the best parts of Weston.

I was very happy with my video creations and I thought they had a very nice flair to them. I think fleshing out my graphic design ideas now will help for the future and a big help for my upcoming short film (Title TBA) will also be the cinematic video. I loved looking for those weird and quirky shots. Feel free to give me some feedback. As for now that'll be all. Have a great day!

Time to come back

Ah I have finally returned to my blog. It's a bittersweet feeling but here I sitting at the edge of my desk, with a slight feeling of drowsiness from a long day, but a great feeling of excitement to return.

Walking back into Stoklosa's class at the beginning of the year was a nice feeling. And in my opinion it felt as if nothing had changed. I felt like I was walking right back into media class to pick up where we left off. The transition was easy and so far, I've enjoyed A level quite a lot.

With the start of the year we began with one of my favorite projects. My brand. Currently my blog still has the same template from the previous year, BUT the URL and title has changed. And soon enough you will start to see some much bigger changes to the blog as well. I decided that my brand would be named, "Red Ramos." The idea sparked from my own iconic hair color, my last name, and the fact that I love the inclusion of alliteration, thus, "Red Ramos," was born. This year, I dived a lot more into graphic design and I have fallen in love with it. But we can talk about that another time. As for myself, I wanted to share the first piece I made this year and give a little story to end my first post. Hope you enjoy and good night.

Story Time!
